This is great. The older you get the easier it is to let go of things you thought (even subconsciously) were important to you. Especially needing an explanation if it’s unresolved.
The more people you connect with and the more you live your life, things closer to the now are much more important than your past. Your past obviously helped make you who you are today, but there’s a lot that just needs to be left behind.
Thanks, Matt 💗 I agree with you too (as per usual). And I’m glad it gets even easier as we get older :) Thank you so much for your support, as always. ✨
Amazing read as always, Amber! I always feel a deep sigh of relief when I read your work… like, thank God, someone else gets it too! I’ve dealt with the same problem. I think most people do. But when you actually feel very deeply, which isn’t necessarily the norm, it can be really disorienting! I appreciate your perspective, it’s a great reminder. Easy to forget.
Aww thank you so much, Tianna! ✨I’m so grateful that we share a similar experience with this, because you’re right, it can be disorienting feeling things deeply. I’m glad you can understand me too. 💗
“The same thought has nothing new left to teach you.”
Ooof.
I think a lot of us get trapped believing that if we just think about something a little longer, analyze it a little deeper, or revisit it one more time, we’ll finally find the answer we’re looking for.
What stood out most to me here was the idea that peace can feel suspicious when we’re so accustomed to carrying the weight. That’s a strange realization when it happens.
I have been experiencing different emotions recently and reading this is like an assurance that my emotions should put me in captivity. I think this is one of the peak of emotional intelligence. We feel all kinds of emotions but it take an emotionally intelligent person to know that not all deserves the weight we feel. It is not that we should ignore them but we should rather sit with ourselves and let the truth about these emotions be the judge.

You’re way ahead of the curve of life as usual.

Ah, this is so beautiful I literally cannot! Definitely saving this for the future. We all need this one.
Thank you, Mer xx 💗
So glad you put this out.
So beautiful ❤️ 😍
Thank you so much 💗

Really thoughtful reflection, Amber.🫶🏼✨
Thank you so much, Marlana 💗 I’m glad I could resonate with you in some way ✨
I am so glad you have managed to arrive in this place.
You are so right, the emotions never completely go away, and nor should they. But you are no longer attached to them.
I often say to my clients that acknowledging your feelings is important but you don't have to believe any of the thoughts that go with them.
Thank you for reading!! And very well-said :) ✨
I absolutely loved this piece, Amber. So deep.
You've reached a level of maturity that you have to be really proud of, girlie 💓
"Sitting with our emotions for too long" and allowing them to take all the space needed can become a dangerous trap.
Slowly we can forget that we have power over our emotions and thoughts.
Acceptance is supported; consumption is declined.
Your essays are always beautifully written 🥹💓
Thank you so much for your kind words, Liubov.💗 They mean a lot, truly. ✨

Amber, thoughtful and well observed;
Emotional awareness is useful, but you made the case well for why it shouldn’t become emotional captivity…
Thank you for reading, Jagneet. And I am so glad you understood my thoughts. 💗
